Hard disagree with you saying Kap was still starter quality when he was ostracized. He was god awful his last two years. Arguably still a backup, but who wants that baggage from a backup? FWIW I do agree with your anti-blackball stance, but FAFO sometimes.
I remember debating this a few years back -- think his supporting cast was terrible the last couple years, and he was okay under the circumstances. Low-end QB1, high-end backup, should have been in demand.
And that's really my point -- the word "baggage" is misleading. Does the guy have a drug problem or a authority problem where he doesn't do his job? Or is the "baggage" something about his political views some fans don't like. If it's the latter, it's not baggage. It's cowardice from the team. Same situation as Bauer in that case.
