I went 4-1 last week which as I said doesn’t really matter, but it’s good to get back in the flow of things ahead of this week which does matter because there’s a quarterly prize of $250K for whoever has the best record from Weeks 5-8.
Here are my picks:
Texans -2 at Ravens
I would normally sell high off the Texans blowout win against the Titans, but they are still desperate at 1-3, and the Ravens will likely be without Lamar Jackson and most of their secondary. Cooper Rush is bad, and the Texans have a good defense.
Titans +7.5 at Cardinals
I’m buying lowest on the Titans, but this is often a mistake with true doormats who don’t bounce back, never have a get-well game. Maybe the Titans are one, but Cam Ward is getting more experience, and the Cardinals are the kind of team they could catch looking ahead.
Seahawks -3.5 vs Buccaneers
This is a very strange line, so I snapped-called it. I’d think this would be more like a pick ‘em or at most 2.5. When the line makes no sense, take the senseless side.
Chargers -2.5 vs Redskins
I am most wary of this one with the Chargers’ O-line injuries and Jayden Daniels coming back, but I overlooked it to buy them low. They have an elite quarterback, a good defense and one of the league’s best coaches. Unless Daniels plays out of his mind (which he might), the Chargers pull away.
Chiefs -3.5 at Jaguars
This might be my favorite game of the week. The Jaguars are soft and have a bad quarterback, the Chiefs are 2-2 and won’t overlook anyone. They seemed to open up the offense last week with Xavier Worthy healthy too.
