I went 0-5 in Week 1 and dug a deeper hole last week by going 2-3. I’m probably drawing dead, but there are quarterly prizes, and I can certainly get hot in Weeks 5-8, for example, as the season takes more shape. But you never know how things go, and the five picks are due each week, so I’m still making them.
I took the Falcons in Survivor because I think they look like a contender, and the Panthers are erratic at best. I’m a little nervous about it because the Falcons haven’t proved anything yet, but Carolina is missing two offensive linemen too.
The Raiders line crossed the key number to 2.5 in places, and I’m getting 3.5 here because the Circa lines came out before the Jayden Daniels news. I don’t think the Redskins with Marcus Mariota are better than the Raiders.
The Browns have played good defense the first two weeks, and the Packers are coming off easy wins over good teams. It just feels like the right time to sell high and buy the Browns low.
The Vikings are stuck with Carson Wentz, while the Bengals have Jake Browning, but the downgrade in Cincinnati was bigger, the Vikings defense is better, and they’re coming off a bad loss at home.
The Texans offensive line is terrible. It’s almost unwatchable. But they’re 0-2 and desperate, and I think they win this game against a mediocre Jaguars team.
