Guessing The Lines
Last week was bad — 2-3, and 1-4, respectively. Respect to real man Ron Rivera for going for the PAT and missing when the two-point conversion was not only the right football call, but gave the Team a chance to cover the 6.5-point spread.
One rule of bitching about bad beats (and that wasn’t even one as they easily could have failed on the two-point conversion anyway) is never blame bad coaching because you chose the team with that coach! Unless the team fired the coach before the game and replaced him with an even worse coach, you went in eyes open.
That out of the way, let’s take a look at Week 16:
I’m close on most of these. The Saints and Rams strike me as rough equals, so 4.5 seems like a lot.
The Bengals -1.5 is basically a pick ‘em, and I think Jake Browning over Mason Rudolph is significant.
I also kind of like the Lions and Jared Goff indoors against Nick Mullens.
Even though my Packers line is smaller than the real one, I could lay the wood as a buy-low, sell-high.
I have no opinion on Jaguars-Bucs until I know more about Trevor Lawrence’s status.
The Bears are pretty good, but this strikes me as an odd letdown spot against the bad, but scrappy Cardinals.
I like the Chiefs to blow out the Raiders at home too.
