Guessing the Lines: Conference Title Games
One of the two was spoiled by Ted Bell who tweeted about the Chiefs being favored, so I guessed they were -1, which they were two days ago, but that line has since moved to +1. I think I would have guessed the current line had I not seen that tweet, but I can’t change it because that would be cheating. I realize no one cares if my guesses are exactly right, but cheating even in a minor way is dangerous for someone in my position. While some of what I observe and express might turn out to be wrong, it can’t turn out to be phony. Either way, I have the Bengals by three for my own line, and I doubt the real one will get there.
Here are my numbers:
It looks like Patrick Mahomes was in line to practice today (Wednesday), and if that’s the case, he’ll almost surely suit up. But I doubt he’ll be close to 100 percent, and I think the Bengals are the better-rounded, more skilled team.
In the NFC, I really want the Niners to win for my NFFC Postseason contest, but if I had to bet that game at 2.5, I think I’d take the Eagles at home. The Niners are also really good on both sides of the ball, but the Eagles have the better offensive line and quarterback, and they’re playing at home. Maybe I’m biased as a Giants fan though after watching that dismantling last week. As compelling as Burrow vs Mahomes is, I actually think the NFC game is the more high-powered matchup.
