Guessing The Lines
Last week was poor — I went 1-4 on the Normal picks and 2-3 on the Ugly ones. No point in dwelling on that, though.
Here are my numbers for Week 14:
I was far away on a lot of these. I like getting the Pats plus six against Mitch Trubisky — that’s a big line in a game with a total of 30.
For Browns-Jaguars, I’m assuming Trevor Lawrence is out and the Browns defense goes to town on C.J. Beathard. But the market seems to be pricing in some possibility Lawrence plays.
I thought I was being aggressive laying 3.5 with the Texans, but the market is even more aggressively fading the Jets.
I didn’t go big enough for the Seahawks — I guess the Niners are grading out as the league’s best team by far right now. Still, 10.5 seems like a lot for a divisional game against a tough enough opponent.
I keep underestimating the Dolphins. I should probably trust them more against bad teams like the Titans.
Finally, people must really buy into the Packers now after their big wins against the Lions and Chiefs. Maybe I made this line like it was two weeks ago.
