Monday Night Observations
Amazing
I had two players going in that game for my Steak League team that needs to avoid double buying, thanks to Lamar Jackson, Brock Bowers and Brian Thomas. Those players were Bijan Robinson and safety IDP Jessie Bates, who I picked up and started this week. Well, Bijan catches a TD to start the game, then Bates gets a pick-six! (worth 11 points), then Bijan busts a 93-yard TD run. Almost too good to be true. Bijan finishes with 37.4 points in half-PPR, Bates with 18 (which is basically the ceiling for a DB.) And the game was entertaining too.
Kirk Cousins was a caretaker with a lead all game and Robinson doing all the work. Between Robinson and Allgeier, the Falcons had 32 carries, as opposed to 20 pass attempts.
David Sills V (is he really the fifth David Sills, I’m dubious?) is a player even though he’s 29 and has never been a serious prospect.
So much for Kyle Pitts’ playoff run. He’ll still go off the board as a top-five TE next year though.
I’d rather go to prison for a Facebook post in London than have started Drake London in my championship game.
Robinson is such a complete back, the obvious and most apt comp is Christian McCaffrey.
Matthew Stafford threw three picks, one of them taken to the house. The Rams were only playing for a minor seeding adjustment, but it wasn’t a great game.
The Falcons defense took Puka Nacua out for the most part, so Stafford was throwing to a lot of scrubs. They missed Davante Adams this game. You have to think teams will try to do this in the playoffs if Adams isn’t 100 percent, so Sean McVay would have to adjust.
Blake Corum hurt his ankle, so Kyren Williams saw most of the work, but the Rams were playing from behind the whole game.
I also had Jared Verse as my IDP DL earlier this year, and he too scored a TD on a blocked field goal, but sadly I had dropped him. Real man points at the opposing sideline during the runback in a losing effort.
