Monday Night Observations
I quit coffee for October, and oddly it’s caused me to wake up at 6 am every morning without an alarm. (I ascribe it to quitting coffee, at least.) As such, I went to watch the edited version of the game at 6:30, but it hadn’t been finished yet. So I had to use the full version and skip ahead between plays. The slider on the NFL app isn’t that precise, so I probably missed a fair amount. Which was okay since that was a terrible, flag-fest of a game.
I did have the Broncos +4.5, and they covered, which put me at 3-2. That was a relief. And I needed 17 points from Russell Wilson in a league which he got — barely. I would’ve liked the Broncos to win outright for Survivor purposes, but no need to get greedy, that was good enough.
Russell Wilson looked fine to me. He just didn’t have time to throw. I don’t know that the Broncos will fix it, but I don’t think Wilson is the problem.
Nearly 33-YO Latavius Murray (15-66-0, 1-1—2-0) is apparently the RB1. He doesn’t look terrible, either.
Justin Herbert attempted 57 passes but they were mostly short throws (4.2 YPA) Austin Ekeler (14-36-1, 16-10-47-0) had 16 targets. I’ve never been a huge Keenan Allen guy, but the team really misses him.
Joshua Palmer (12-9-57-0) was the top WR, as Mike Williams (6-2-17-0) was blanketed by Patrick Surtain.
There wasn’t much to like about this game — there were 240 penalty yards between the two teams, and only two touchdowns.
