Monday Night Observations
I got half of what I needed. Brandon Aubrey (who I predicted would break Cam Little’s record the next day) had a chance to tie it, but missed from 68, and did not come close to getting me the points I needed for the win. But Javonte Willams and Jake Ferguson didn’t do much, so I won my Primetime matchup. Overall, it was still a terrible week, but Monday night didn’t kill me.
Jacoby Brissett played well and manages the offense like a professional quarterback. He’s Mac Jones which is better than the erratic Kyle Murray. The Cardinals have to be aware of this by now too, but keep in mind it happened against the Cowboys who are the worst pass defense in the league.
This has implications for Marvin Harrison (10-7-96-1) who got involved early and often. And it’s good for Trey McBride too despite the modest output.
Good luck guessing which Cardinals RB to start, and Trey Benson could be back at some point too.
The Cardinals defense got good pressure on Dak Prescott, took away most of the downfield stuff.
CeeDee Lamb was inefficient on 12 targets, but hard to go wrong with that kind of volume. George Pickens was more efficient on nine.
Jake Ferguson had seven targets after being blanked last week. He’s more like TE10 with Lamb back than the TE1 when Lamb was out.
Javonte Williams ran hard, but gameflow got away from him. He also lost a fumble near the Cardinals sideline and got mocked for it.
Aubrey missed that FG way wide right. I had expected better of him.
