Truth be told, I woke up this morning and forgot there was a game. I went on Twitter (per my usual Tuesday “data dump” as one reader called it), and accidentally came across the result there, which reminded me it was played. So I went and watched the highlights, but I don’t have much to say about it.
I’ve been a bit distracted since Friday night due to something shocking and tragic that happened in Heather’s family. I won’t go into it here, but I will have to talk about it on the Chris Liss podcast as it’s a big deal, Heather is in LA for the week sorting things out, and I’ve got Sasha and Oscar here.
Maybe it’s just being distracted, but also I am largely drawing dead in my leagues now, Evan Engram’s big game notwithstanding, and I’m losing interest in the fantasy aspect of the NFL season. I still have to avoid buying Steaks, and that goes through Week 18, but that’s more avoiding downside than anything especially exciting.
I think I’ll keep the posting schedule going as is — I believe in finishing what you set out to do, and making decisions afterwards — but the format and content might be a bit different.
In other words, like a 4-8 team, I’m going to audition my third-round rookie QB rather than sticking with Derek Carr or Baker Mayfield.
What does this mean? I don’t know. I’ll probably just write about whatever occurs to me more than trying to cover the action around the league.
Otherwise, the biggest takeaway from Monday night is quarterbacks don’t matter. But kickers surely do!
Thinking about your family and Heather’s, Liss. So sorry to see that in today’s post. Take care.
All the content is good, fantasy or not. The new, unedited, stream of consciousness format on the Chris Liss pod is outstanding. Sincerely hoping for the best with your family. Take care.
