Monday Night Observations
I’ll make these quick because even on the 40-minute version those games were a tough watch. Having the Titans +10 in the Circa Millions was torture. Just get blown out from the get-go, don’t drive down to tie it and keep me hanging on until the middle of the third quarter with false hope. It’s hell rooting for the underdog when they can’t block the rush and can’t rush the passer. That game wasn’t even as close as the 41-7 score.
To add a kick in the nuts to the punch in the gut, Stefon Diggs (14-12-148-3), whom I have in zero leagues scores three times, the last one a gtatuitous add-on in a blowout. I rarely stop watching on the edited version, but I fast-forwarded to see Malik Willis fumble around in garbage time.
I’m now 5-5 in the Circa Millions, two games off where I need to be.
The other annoying thing was the display of the score of the Vikings-Eagles during the Titans-Bills. Okay great, I’m watching this piece of shit product and you are simultaneously ruining the second game for me too. Let’s go back to one Monday night game per week, please.
The Eagles-Vikings was only good because Justin Jefferson (12-6-48-0) had a modest day. I was enjoying Adam Thielen (7-4-52-0) getting shut out too, but then he got a few catches in garbage time. "But he’s such a good value!”
The other annoying thing was Jalen Hurts rushing for both of those TDs — he had to break tackles and extend to get in, costing my AJ Brown (8-5-69-0) and Miles Sanders (17-80-0, 3-3-6-0) opportunities. Just get tackled at the one, FFS.
I have some Irv Smith (8-5-36-1) — need to check if I dropped him after a zero in Week 1, but he was the big revelation with a TD and some nice running after the catch, but he also dropped an easy would-be long TD. Still, he’s the No. 3 WR there.
I also had Dalvin Cook (6-17-0, 6-4-19-0) going, who was a total bust. At least I had PHI -1.5 in my picking pool.
Incidentally, does anyone else actually flip the bird (while watching alone) to the referees when they make a call that goes against you? Sometimes I even say it out loud. The officious delivery, the sanctimonious scolding after you have a catch and run for 15 yards wiped out, or they call a bullshit roughing the passer after the defense kills itself for a stop on third down?
Seriously, fuck off.
