It’s always more entertaining to see an upset, so long as you aren’t invested in the favorite. I actually bought 100 shares of the Bears to win the NFC North earlier, so I was happy about it. They’re 2-1, and the absence of Caleb Williams doesn’t seem quite so catastrophic anymore.
Case Keenum looked sharp all game, delivering accurate throws under pressure, not making mistakes. He didn’t turn it over and didn’t take a single sack. I have to assume he’ll start Week 4, ahead of Tyson Bagent, but we’ll see, maybe Ben Johnson wants to prove anyone could succeed under his coaching.
DeAndre Swift got 20 carries to Kyle Monangai’s 10. I caught on the edited version of the broadcast that Swift eclipsed 5,000 rushing yards for his career — not bad for a guy who seemed injury prone when he first got into the league.
Kalif Raymond continues to torture people who paid up for Bears skill players, but Ben Johnson brought him over from Detroit, so it’s safe to assume he’ll stay at least somewhat involved.
Luther Burden got 11 targets and scored a TD — his owners probably want Williams to take his time coming back. Rome Odunze (6-3-44-0) and Colston Loveland (4-4-31-0, tackled on the one-yard line) are still on the outside looking in, but feels like only a matter of time for Loveland at least.
The problem with Odunze is he seems not to be enough of an alpha, the guy who complains when he’s not getting the ball. Like he’s fine with just contributing and not having it be all about him. Terrible character if you drafted him.
The Eagles offense is unwatchable. I do appreciate Andy Dalton coming in to throw an interception on his only pass attempt. QB rating negative infinity.
There was a weird sequence when the Eagles were down 20-7 with three minutes left in the third, they had 4th and 1 near midfield, chose to punt. Next series they go for it on like 4th and 4 near the same spot. And why didn’t they just use Hurts in short yardage? Must have discussed it (and I missed it) on the broadcast.
Saquon Barkley looked good to me but they didn’t get him involved in the passing game. At least he’s healthy.
DeVonta Smith doesn’t seem like a guy capable of 150 targets, even with AJ Brown gone, even with Dallas Goedert hurt. It’s not a great passing game in which to invest anyway.
It’s amazing (and sad) the Giants are now tied for first place.
Rome Odunze is the anti-Jarvis Landry! Landry was that kid at the playground pick up game who wasn’t really good BUT everyone was sorta afraid of. Real kid who demands the ball.

Giants comment reminded me that I watched live on TV ‘the greatest game ever played.’ I was a Giants fan and it was horrendous!! Ruined my life!
