I built myself a fancy Survivor tool for the Circa contest that accounts for the Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day slates (each of which count as their own separate weeks), but figured why not modify it to make a generic one for the Real Man Sports site?
To be clear, this generic one takes into account everything else — market-based survival chances plus pot odds, based on modeling percentage-owned historically and mixing that with “polling” data from Yahoo and Splash per Survivorgrid.com. The difference between that and my Circa one is the latter uses Circa-specific historical data and builds in a specific strategy to deal with the holiday games. Further, you have to model how those holiday games alter the distribution of picks (which they obviously do as people are forced to hoard those teams.)
In any event, Substack can’t host tools, but my URL can, and so if you want to check out the full pot-odds-integrated Survivor Oracle, click here. Eventually I might put this behind a paywall, but for now it’s free.
