I’ve been traveling most of the summer, but finally back for good. One of the places I went was Vegas, in order to sign up for the Circa Millions (ATS contest) and Circa Survivor ($1K buy-in, $15M prize.) Unfortunately you have to sign up in person to do it, and you also have to pay a local proxy to put in the picks for you during the year.
But I’m in, got the proxy and will be posting on Survivor until unless I get eliminated, something I plan to avoid. A few of you unsubscribed last year because I lost in Week 1 and lost in all my pools midseason, so I stopped posting on it. I get it, I really do, it’s your money, and you should unsubscribe for that or any reason whatsoever if you are no longer inclined to part with it for this erratically updated newsletter. Unless and until I commit to doing a comprehensive fantasy football product that covers everything from preseason to Super Bowl, I won’t try to talk anyone out of it.
But I’m all in so long as I’m alive (figuratively) and you can expect a Week 1 post for sure. For now, I’m leaning Eagles, but I haven’t committed to that yet. The Landon Dickerson injury is the one thing giving me pause, but if Micah Parsons’ contract dispute lingers through that game (unlikely IMO), I’d call it a wash.
I had initially considered the Broncos, but Bo Nix is still raw, and I could see him taking a few games to get into a groove. Plus maybe Cam Ward is good right away, and then there’s the pot-odds aspect as the Broncos are the biggest favorite on the board and could be heavily used for that reason.
In any event, I’ll have a more fully fleshed out piece with a final pick ahead of Week 1. I’m committed to winning that $15M this year and taking it seriously.
