The Team I Wish I Had Drafted
A+ Draft
Now that my fantasy season is over, I’d like to focus on what might have been. If I only knew on draft day what I know now, here’s the team I would have assembled:
1.1: Christian McCaffrey
Not buying this calf injury, and besides anyone can get hurt. We all know he’s the 1.1 if healthy, so stop being such a pussy and draft him!
2.12 Trey McBride
Don’t think Kyler Murray will stay healthy this year, and McBride would absolutely blow up if Jacoby Brissett takes over.
3.12 Chris Olave
You think this is a reach, and yet you took Marvin Harrison at 3.7? Olave will ball out once rookie Tyler Shough gets his shot. Sidebet? Name your price!
4.1 Travis Etienne
I didn’t like any of my options here, almost took the Seahawks defense, but Etienne is a good buy-low now that everyone assumes Bhayshul Tuten is a sleeper, LOL!
5.12 Rico Dowdle
Feel like he could be useful midseason if Chuba Hubbard gets hurt.
6.1 Stefon Diggs
Think he’ll be serviceable on the Pats with Drake Maye.
7.12 Seahawks Defense
Is this early for a defense? Really like their new scheme this year.
8.1 Seahawks Kicker
You always want to stack the defense and kicker if you can. Seattle stack is elite.
9.12: Kyle Pitts
Love buying low on former prospects who could go on a second-half run once Vagenix eventually gets hurt and Kirk Cousins takes over. Good flex start with McBride.
10.1 Brock Purdy
He’s not that durable, so I’ll probably have to find a QB for the first half of the season, but I like his schedule in the playoffs and stacking him with McCaffrey.
11.12 Wan’Dale Robinson
I really like his upside if Malik Nabers gets hurt. Good bet to be one of the shortest receivers ever to get 1,000 yards too!
12.1 Trevor Lawrence
I’m bearish on Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter, but like Lawrence’s chances for a second-half breakout under Liam Coen. Plus, love his Week 15 fantasy playoff matchup!
13.1 Cowboys Kicker
Never too early to draft a second kicker.
14.12 Texans Defense
Want to pair my kicker and tight end depth with defensive depth.
15.1 Matthew Stafford
QB depth is important, love Stafford in this spot.
16.12 Michael Wilson
Love his upside for the second half of the season if Brissett takes over.
17.1 Christian Watson
I have so much depth at WR I can wait for him to come off the IR.
18.12 Kenneth Gainwell
Really like his upside with Aaron Rodgers. LOL people drafting Kaleb Johnson 10 rounds earlier!
19.1 Parker Washington
Have him over Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter on my board, but that’s just my opinion.
20.12 Tre Tucker
He’s good for a big game or two, I’d imagine. Can always drop him after his three-TD game!

This obviously isn’t the best possible team I could have drafted, but I’m positive it would have made the playoffs and crushed in every round. And the side-bet revenue — two defenses and two kickers in the first 14 rounds — would probably exceed whatever the league prize is.
