Also, I see that you've been pairing Amon-Ra with this Jarvis Landry comp, and while I understand how someone who doesn't watch the team that frequently might consider Landry as a player comp based off of the average depth of targets that Amon-Ra receives, I am here to set the record straight.
Amon-Ra is actually much quicker and faster than Landry. Hell, Amon-Ra actually gets handoff trap run plays relying on his quickness in space, something Landry wouldn't ever do.
For sheer facts though, Amon-Ra's Relative Athletic Score when drafted was a 7.14, placing him 722 out of 2517 receivers drafted from '87 to '21, so actually top 25th percentile of all receivers. He's very athletic, and I think one of those players who is even more so while in pads. Landry's Relative Athletic Score was a 0.27!!! I am not sure where this ranks... didn't look that deep into it, but it's very bad. (Funny enough Antonio Brown's was also pretty lousy... like 1.5 or something).
Amon Ra Bench 20, Vert 38.5", Broad 10' 7", 40 4.61, 20 2.64, 10 1.63, Shuttle 4.26, 3-cone 7.21
Landry's 40, shuttle, and cone are brutal. It's actually amazing looking at it that he was selected in the 2nd round.
Amon-Ra is pretty average all around, with very good jump numbers which is interesting, since that doesn't really fit his profile.
Amon-Ra beats him in every metric. They measured same height, and Landry slightly outweighs him and has bigger hands.
I'm not sure about Landry's mental makeup, although I imagine it's pretty good considering the career he had in overcoming his dismal athleticism. I do know however, that Amon-Ra is a full blown psychopath (in a good way) with a bordering on unhealthy dedicated work ethic and am extreme penchant for wanting to prove his doubters wrong. This is highlighted pretty well in last years Hard Knocks, if you aren't familiar with how many balls he catches before and after practice, how hard he works out and trains, or how he's memorized every player drafted in front of him.
He's one of the best players in the league and a great fantasy player. Get on board.
I really hope for the sake of your wounded Lions fandom you don't end up eating crow on this one, but Landry in Year 2 went 166-110-1,157-4 with Tannehill, which is about the same as ARSB's 146-106-1,161-6 last year, and they were both 22 at the time.
It's true Landry was brutally unathletic, but a 4.59 at 202 pounds is well below average speed for a modest-sized ARSB too. On 222 career targets, ARSB has only 1 catch for 40 yards and 25 for 20 yards. (Landry had 3 40-yard catches his second year.) So their production for slow, average-sized receivers is very similar.
As for his quickness in space necessitating hand-off trap plays ARSB has 40 career rushing yards on 11 attempts! Deebo Samuel he is not!
I don't doubt he's tough and works hard, but Landry was tough as hell and I'm sure also worked hard -- how else was he a WR1 in the NFL for 5-odd years with those average-man skills
Amon-Ra is Real Man. After all, Real Man is the offspring of Mr. Universe, and also Real Man is anointed Saintdom from being merely Mr. Brown. (Look up his Dad John Brown.)
I don't know where you're getting your numbers from, but Amon-Ra's career rushing numbers are 17 carries, 160 yards, 1 TD on a 9.4 avg.... pretty damn excellent, and certainly not 40 for 11.
Sure, 4.59 is very pedestrian and I would never argue St. Brown has top end speed.
Where I will argue is how laterally quick he is, MUCH quicker than Landry, and it's actually quite shocking to me that his 3-cone drill was only what would be considered to be above average. I would wager that if you throw pads on all of the WRs and do the 3-cone, he would score much better relative to the field... he's just one of those guys that when he has the ball in his hands, he becomes electric.
sorry, used the wrong column for his rushing stats, yours are correct.
I don't see the big plays. He catches short balls and runs well after the catch, but even with that, few big gains or TDs. Not a big-play wideout, not a touchdown guy like Davante Adams.
FWIW Landry in 2015 had 567 YAC, ARSB in 2022 had 531.
What a win!

There will be no crow-eating on this one.
