Thursday Night Observations
That wasn’t exactly what I was expecting — the second highest point total of the year with Aidan O’Connell at QB. The same team that was shut out at home by the Vikings last week.
I had the Chargers +3.5 in my picking pool, though I didn't feel strongly about it at all, and I thought about starting Quentin Johnston in the Primetime playoffs, but did not. (Johnston salvaged his day with a late TD, but even so scored only 10 fantasy points.)
There wasn’t much else of note. The only startable player who went off was Davante Adams, and even he didn’t go that crazy, given the score. And the Raiders defense, if anyone were bold enough to use them.
Austin Ekeler saw only five carries with Isaiah Spiller of all people getting the bulk of the work. I’ve faded Ekeler every year, and it’s nice to be right for once. (Pro tip: if you fade the same running back every year, you’re almost certain to be right eventually.)
Joshua Palmer made the big play for the TD, but saw only four targets. If you used him, you got awfully lucky.
I don’t have much else to say about this game except that if Brandon Staley wasn’t toast already, he is now.
