One thing you don’t get from the 40-minute edited version is injuries. You just wonder why your guy isn’t getting targets, then you start looking for his jersey number on the field, then you become enraged and wonder if he were a late scratch after you went to bed. Thankfully, though it doesn’t really matter, Moore was injured DURING the game, an AC joint sprain not deemed to be serious. Well, it’s a pretty serious blow to my Primetime team that benched Davante Adams for him this week.
I cashed in a Combo bet on Kalshi, Jared Goff over 300 yards with three TDs and Amon-Ra St. Brown with 100-yards and a TD. It was only 13.5 to 1, and I realized I should have juiced it further with YES on the over in the game, but for some reason didn’t think of it at the time.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, who I traded to Peter Schoenke in the .5 PPR Steak League, might go 1.2 right now behind only his teammate Jahmyr Gibbs, in NFFC formats were we to re-draft right now. Goff targets him all the time, and ARSB catches everything.
Remember the Jameson Williams psyop the summer before they shift to “AI will kill us all?” Williams was always going to be a distant third fiddle behind Gibbs and ARSB, and with Sam LaPorta looking good early on, he’s probably fourth.
Gibbs had only 52 rushing yards in a game where the Lions trailed from the start, but 6-61-1 as a receiver, on eight targets, twice as many as Williams.
I should have drafted Allen in the fourth in my Primetime instead of Moore. A couple years ago the elite QBs were going at the 1-2 turn, and while that was excessive, mid-fourth this year was an over-correction.
Cook looks great, but I didn’t like him in the first round, especially in full PPR, because he doesn’t catch many passes, and Josh Allen steals half his TDs. He’s almost like skinny Derrick Henry only with more goal line competition.
Dalton Kincaid caught seven of eight targets and got going downfield after the catch. He looked like Travis Kelce from five years ago. Keon Coleman made an impact with Moore out, but apparently Joshua Palmer is the token deep guy.
The Lions are lucky they’re not 0-2. It’s pretty crazy they have a real chance to field the RB1 and WR1 this year.
The reason I was relieved Moore got hurt in game and not scratched prior was the former isn’t preventable and the latter is, provided I were willing to stay up to 1:30 am, paranoid about surprise scratches, something I’d rather not do. Time-zone discrimination in fantasy football is real!

I've been thinking often of late about that blown lead in the 2024 NFC Championship game.
