That was a bad game even though it was close and dramatic. The Cardinals are unwatchable. Kyler Murray is always like this. One good throw here and there, one fast-footed scramble amidst the slop. The Seahawks are better, but almost played down to their level, let them back in the game. It didn’t help I had the Cardinals plus half a point, they made the comeback, then the idiot kicker gave them the ball on the 40-yard line and of course they gave up the game-winning field goal. But it serves the Cardinals right — they should have gone for two instead of tying it in the first place.
Murray had a fine fantasy line though he could have had a third pick that was dropped. (Then again, Marvin Harrison’s drop caused one of his two.) The problem for Murray is the offense never has any rhythm. It’s just herky-jerky big plays and stalling.
Trey Benson’s first start was okay, but game flow limited his volume. He did catch five passes, but for only 19 yards. In the final two-minute drive, Emari Demarcado replaced him and caught the game-tying TD.
Marvin Harrison struggled early, coughing up a pass that turned into a pick. But he made some nice back-shoulder catches in the fourth quarter and went up for a contested TD. The problem for him, besides Murray’s inconsistency, is he doesn’t get open. If he’s going to be good, it’ll have to be just out-jumping and out-muscling DBs for the ball. Hard way to make a living, but maybe doable.
Trey McBride got his 11 targets, but it was all short stuff.
Sam Darnold looked pretty good, though the broadcast was praising him for a throw that was way behind his receiver who made a good catch. His decision-making was sound though.
Kenneth Walker looked smooth, making nice cuts and running hard, but he got pulled after drawing a taunting penalty, and Zach Charbonnet got the short TD. The penalty for taunting should be revenge by the opponent, not 15-yards from the ref.
Charbonnet looked a little sluggish to me, though his second effort on the goal-line run got him the TD. Probably a 60/40 split in favor of Walker.
JSN salvaged his day late, but for a while it looked like he might get blanked. Only 11.9 PPR points is light for him, but given where it was headed, I’ll take it.
Cooper Kupp saw five targets, but all short stuff, and Tory Horton did nothing.
Pretty dull game overall, drama at the end notwithstanding.
