I'm surprised that you don't feel Jalen Hurts is a top 5 QB in real life. if I was starting a franchise, I feel he is the 2nd best in the league behind Mahomes, and ahead of Burrow, Allen, Lamar, (not even including Herbert who is Stafford v2.0). While he is probably a slightly below average passer, he really is pretty serviceable in that area, and I imagine will improve in the coming years. Paired with his elite rushing ability, he also seems to make good decisions as a passer for a player who I think at one time some teams before the draft viewed him as a wide receiver. Lastly, and I am purely speculating, because as a fan we know very little about the locker room dynamics, but he seems to be one of the great leaders in the league. Just my two cents.

I mean he's JH, so not "Just a Guy," but that setup he's in is ideal. I think Burrow (if he could ever stay healthy) is better, and I even think Josh Allen is better. Lamar is at least equal IMO, and I'd take Stroud over him too and Mahomes.

Josh Allen makes absolutely bone-headed decisions and takes some really bad contact when he runs, though I respect his competitiveness. He's like a dumb John Elway. Maybe he figures it out.

Burrow is close, but the injuries are starting to become a trend. He has also had a great setup, and the Bengals are starting to run into cap issues, likely losing Tee Higgins this offseason, so we will see how that goes for Burrow in the future.

Lamar is a great player. I know statistically he is up there in passing efficiency, but eye-test wise, you're never going to convince me as his mechanics just seem off and I don't think he has near the ceiling that Hurts does as a passer. You could argue Hurts ceiling comes from having Brown, Smith, etc, but speculating I think its fairly obvious that great wide receivers just don't want to play with Lamar because the offense will always be built around a run-first conservative philosophy.

It's wayyyyy too early to board the Stroud hype train for me.

I've compared Allen to Elway, and I think that's apt. Elway was in the easy conference his entire career, while Allen is in the harder one. And Allen was insanely good with Daboll. He's fallen off with the new OC a bit. The Bills lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs only because their defense gave up points to Mahomes with like 20 seconds left.

Burrow is great when healthy. Chase is great, but the line isn't. Hurts has an elite line and elite receivers. He's like Purdy, but mobile. Maybe not even as good as Purdy as a passer.

I hear you about Lamar. It's not a pretty motion. But he's done it with a variety of different levels of o-line and skill guys. The only QB I'd rather build a team around ahead of Stroud right now is Mahomes. (Maybe Burrow if he hadn't taken such a beating, but that happened and can't be undone.)

It's a fair point about the conferences, regarding Allen. I would definitely take Hurts over him.

Stroud looks promising, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he has a sophomore slump next season. This is cherry picking, but a couple weeks ago from I read that "Stroud owns a league-worst 20.7 percent bad throw rate and ranks 28th in on-target percentage at 72.2 percent, according to Pro Football Reference." I'm not sure if this has improved, but I just don't think he is in the conversation among the leagues best quite yet.

Stroud really passes the eye test for me, especially when under pressure.
