Week 14 ATS Picks
I went 1-4 and 2-3 last week, so I’m a bit out of sync. I had some leans this week (should have played the Pats), but then started seeing both sides of each game too much as I went to make the picks this morning. I wound up trying to blank-slate the whole thing and just let the leans come. That’s what these picks are — we’ll see if I was able to get clear or was just forcing it.
I like the Bears getting more than a field goal. The Lions bounced back against the Saints last week, but they were lucky Derek Carr got hurt and Jameis Winston missed a few throws on the final drives.
The Rams just came to me after I stared at it awhile. The Ravens are good and blew out some other solid teams at home, so maybe it’s a mistake, but the Rams are playing well, and my feeling was this game will be competitive.
Everyone seems down on the Chiefs after their loss to the Packers, but I think that makes them a good buy-low, even though the Bills are a desperate animal.
I liked the Broncos better at three, but the Chargers are soft, and the Broncos are still in the hunt. I expect Denver to win outright.
Finally, the Eagles got embarrassed last week, and people are now fading them. I think they’re an ideal buy-low, getting 3.5 against a Cowboys team that mostly beats up on weaklings.
I swapped out the Bears and Rams for the Giants and Saints. Maybe the Packers are for real after beating the Lions and Chiefs, but this is a big number on the road against a try-hard Giants team off a bye.
With Derek Carr set to start, I think the Saints will bounce back big at home against the Panthers. I probably should have used them for both sets of entries.
