Week 16 ATS Picks
I’m leaving for London tomorrow morning for our annual Christmas trip to our friends’ house — London is way more festive than Lisbon — so I made these picks quickly. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing, but it might be. They are the same for all three entries.
(Incidentally, last week I went 2-3 and 1-4.)
I’m taking the Saints plus four. There’s a lot of buzz around how the Rams are a dangerous, darkhorse playoff team no one wants to play. Maybe. But the Saints are roughly equal to them, as far as I can tell, and they’re getting four. Maybe the short week, road game offsets it, but the Saints had an easy time with the Giants last week too.
The Colts are pretty good, and Gardner Minshew is a decent QB. I’m not sure why they’re getting the full 2.5 at Atlanta and Taylor Heinecke. (Maybe the Falcons are a good buy-low after the embarrassing loss last week, but the QB disparity is not reflected in the line.)
The Packers were overrated after a couple good wins and got taken down by the Giants and Bucs. But this is a get well game for them, and the Panthers can comfortably go back to their losing ways now.
I’m not sure why I took the Jets. I guess I like them after the blowout loss, and their defense should shut down the Football Team.
The Raiders are a good sell high after annihilating the Chargers. I think they keep it close for a while, but the Chiefs pull away late.
