Week 17: Guessing The Lines
Last week’s 2-3 was disappointing, but I didn’t watch enough of the games to know exactly what happened and why. I was tracking the Cowboys-Eagles on my phone, and it looked like 5.5 was good, but somehow Dallas got another field goal to win by six. In any event, that puts me at 43-36-1, drawing dead for any kind of payout in the Circa Millions, but I still care to finish strong, if only out of pride.
This week, I have two lines that are way off the market’s, one of which I’m almost certainly going to use, and the other probably not.
Here are my numbers:
I love the Panthers getting the full three. Maybe I’m biased though as I have them at 12:1 to win the division, and a win would put them in first place based on the tie-breaks. Every time I watch the Bucs I’m disappointed. The offense is terrible, and the defense just okay. The Panthers seem to have found something, running the ball and playing defense. It’s so odd they traded away Christian McCaffrey and now are in control of their destiny for a playoff spot.
The other outlier is the Titans, but they’ve been terrible of late. I do like fading the Cowboys off the big win over the Eagles, and while the Cowboys often bully bad teams, they were life and death with the Texans a couple weeks ago. I probably won’t use it anyway because it’s the Thursday night game.
I also like the Giants — they should work the Colts and whatever disastrous QB Jeff Saturday puts out there. I like the Broncos a little for the dead-cat bounce and maybe the Eagles to clinch the top seed.
