Week 18: Circa Millions
So I thought I was done with this, but apparently it does go through Week 18. I’m 46-38-1 so far, but it would be nice to crack 50 wins on the year.
I’ve often done well in the season’s final week because there’s one distinction for whatever reason the market doesn’t seem to make: between teams that have nothing to play for because they are eliminated and those that have nothing to play for because their playoff seeding is more or less set. The former typically go all out with an entire offseason ahead of them, and the latter mail it in, aiming to stay healthy for the playoffs.
As such, I took the Jets over the Dolphins, the Broncos over the Chargers, the Falcons over the Bucs, the Team over the Cowboys and the Bears over the Vikings. All five are eliminated, and all five face teams that don’t have significant mobility with respect to seeding. (The Cowboys do, but the Giants are 14-point underdogs against the Eagles, so most likely they don’t.)
I considered the Titans +6 at Jacksonville just because everyone has written off the Titans, and they’re well coached, but personnel-wise the Jaguars are so much better.
