Week 18 ATS Picks
I went 3-2 last week and was reasonably happy with how the picks turned out. Through 17 weeks (85 games picked), my three entries are 42-42-1, 41-43-1 and 40-45, respectively. (It’s the first time I’ve checked the overall record in about six weeks since I started picking so poorly.)
I’d like to finish out 4-1 or better to put two of the entries over .500 at least.
Here are the picks:
I took the Titans because they will treat this like a playoff game if Mike Vrabel’s emotional press conference is any indication, and the Jaguars have to play on the road, lay wood and could be without Trevor Lawrence.
I love the Team getting 13 at home. The Cowboys are worse on the road, this is a rivalry and such a massive line.
I picked the Pats under the (quite possibly false) idea Bill Belichick would go out with a W.
The Cardinals played for 60 minutes last week, and the worst thing a fringe playoff contender can run into is a scrapy eliminated team enjoying itself.
Finally, I faded the Giants who are usually the team I’d take in this situation (eliminated scrappy team vs playoff team jockeying for seeding.) My reason is the Eagles are a fading top team (Super Bowl runner up, started 10-1) that desperately needs to right the ship ahead of the playoffs. So I see this as a get-well spot for them against a game, but ultimately undermanned opponent. I also like that the Giants had a dramatic loss last week against a playoff team on a missed field goal.
